We’re offering a position for a Gardener / Landscaper Trainee — perfect for someone who enjoys fresh air, steady work, and learning by doing. You’ll start with basic tasks like raking, watering, weeding, and helping move soil, mulch, and plants. You’ll begin with tasks like watering, weeding, carrying tools, and helping set up planting beds. You’ll learn how to use essential tools like pruners, shovels, rakes, and lawnmowers safely and correctly. Each day you’ll see how small details — like clean edges or evenly spaced plants — make a huge visual difference. You’ll discover how to create clean edges along sidewalks, lay out beds in patterns, and help with small landscaping builds. We’ll show you how to shape flower beds, edge lawns, and make small spaces feel neat and intentional. We’ll guide you through tool safety, plant identification, and eco-friendly techniques that protect local ecosystems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Plant, prune, water, and maintain a variety of flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawns in residential, commercial, or public spaces.
• Mow and edge lawns regularly, ensuring consistent height and appearance across landscaped areas.
• Assist in sourcing and selecting plants, garden materials, and decorative features from local nurseries or suppliers.
• Monitor plant health—identifying signs of disease, pests, or stress and taking corrective actions as needed.
• Provide input on design improvements or efficiency upgrades that could improve visual appeal or lower maintenance.

Preferred:

• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding labor.
• Enjoys hands-on work, fresh air, and seeing the results of their efforts grow over time.
• Pays attention to detail when shaping hedges, edging beds, or maintaining symmetry in plant layouts.
• Wants to grow into roles like Lead Gardener, Landscape Designer, or Grounds Supervisor.
• Able to lift heavy loads like soil bags, potted trees, or paving stones as part of regular work.
