Description:

We’re hiring Phlebotomist Trainees to work in pediatric care — no experience needed, just gentle hands, a calm presence, and a heart for children. You’ll be trained to collect blood samples from infants, toddlers, and young children in a way that’s safe, clean, and as stress-free as possible. We’ll train you how to greet donors, walk them through the process, and make them feel comfortable from check-in to juice and cookies. Each visit will be different — different people, lighting, room setups, and comfort levels — and we’ll show you how to adapt calmly and confidently. You’ll learn to collect samples accurately, label them properly, and maintain a strict chain of custody from draw to drop-off. We’ll guide you through safety protocols, how to handle pediatric tubes and needles, and how to build trust with nervous parents. You’ll become skilled at working independently while staying connected to the lab team and communicating in real-time. We’ll guide you in staying calm during high-volume donation drives and how to keep lines moving while giving each person your full attention. You’ll also become part of public events and mobile blood drives — at schools, offices, and community centers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Take pride in your role—small vials, big impact on someone’s health.
  • Draw blood from patients of all ages using safe, sterile techniques.
  • Label vials clearly and accurately to prevent mix-ups in lab processing.
  • Assist with specimen collection beyond blood draws when necessary, like swabs or urine samples.
  • Greet patients with kindness and ease their anxiety about the procedure.

Preferred:

  • Familiar with proper specimen handling for blood cultures, glucose tests, or coagulation studies.
  • Experienced in using collection systems such as vacutainers, butterflies, and syringes.
  • Able to identify suitable veins, prepare collection equipment, and follow proper site sanitation procedures.
  • Able to follow chain-of-custody procedures for drug screenings or forensic tests.
  • Open to working in outpatient labs, hospitals, mobile units, or long-term care facilities.

Benefits:

  • Every day you make a difference — one vial, one patient, one smile at a time.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance — because healthcare workers deserve great care too.
  • Feedback that helps you grow — not just checklists and quotas.
  • You’ll never be “just the blood person” here — we know what you bring to the table.
  • Paid time off, sick days, and real breaks — rest is part of the job.

You’ll be part of a team that values accuracy, kindness, and calm under pressure. Expect solitude, responsibility, and moments when your calm makes all the difference — especially during unexpected emergencies. This job isn’t about speed — it’s about trust, gentleness, and knowing how to meet children where they are. We’ll support you as you practice, ask questions, and turn nervousness into skill and pride. This role is ideal for night owls, early risers, students, or anyone who finds peace in steady, purposeful work after dark. This isn’t just technical work — it’s human work, and how you treat people matters just as much as how well you draw. You’ll leave each shift knowing you helped keep the hospital running, even while most of the world was resting. If you’re ready to build skill, earn trust, and start your medical journey in the quiet hours — we’re ready to train you. If you’re ready to turn compassion into action and learn a hands-on role that truly saves lives — we’re ready to welcome you.
