Description:

We’re hiring a skilled and meticulous Transcriptionist to join our team and provide accurate, high-quality transcriptions for various projects. You’ll be responsible for transcribing audio and video recordings, including interviews, focus groups, podcasts, and webinars. You’ll ensure every transcription is clear, well-structured, and includes accurate timestamps, speaker identification, and necessary formatting. You’ll ensure your transcriptions meet company standards, including accurate timestamps, speaker identification, and adherence to formatting guidelines. You’ll proofread your work to guarantee it’s free from errors and ensure that transcriptions are polished and easy to read. You’ll manage multiple transcription projects, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining a high standard of work. You’ll be expected to work independently and handle confidential information with care, adhering to confidentiality guidelines. You’ll handle confidential and sensitive information with care, following strict confidentiality protocols.

Basic Qualifications:

• Follow legal or medical terminology guidelines (if specialized) and verify technical terms through research when necessary.
• Stay organized with file naming, version control, and document delivery formats (e.g., DOCX, TXT, PDF).
• Format transcripts according to specific guidelines—verbatim, clean read, time-coded, speaker-labeled, etc.
• Continuously improve grammar, formatting, and typing skills to boost speed and polish.
• Communicate professionally with clients to confirm instructions, request extensions, or clarify unclear parts of recordings.

Preferred:

• Able to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
• Able to distinguish between multiple speakers and add appropriate labels or timestamps.
• Capable of editing and proofreading transcripts before submission.
• Familiar with transcription tools like Otter.ai, Express Scribe, Descript, or manual text editors.
• Pays close attention to grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure while transcribing.
