Description:

We’re hiring a Caregiver to provide compassionate support for clients in palliative or end-of-life care — ideal for someone who can offer calm, respectful presence during life’s most delicate moments. You’ll monitor clients through the night, providing assistance as needed with repositioning, bathroom trips, or anxiety relief. You’ll help with evening routines such as changing into sleepwear, medication reminders, and settling into bed peacefully. You’ll stay alert throughout the night, ready to respond to calls, movement, or signs of discomfort. You’ll support light housekeeping such as laundry, dishes, and tidying up to maintain a safe and clean living environment. You’ll provide companionship through conversation, games, walks, or simply sitting together during quiet moments. You’ll accompany clients to appointments, grocery stores, or social outings, making sure they feel supported and secure in public. You’ll monitor cognitive changes gently, helping clients stay mentally active with conversation and light activities. You’ll assist during medical appointments, therapy sessions, or errands by offering support and clear communication.

Basic Qualifications:

• Create a comforting routine that brings stability and peace to the person in your care.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social activities if transportation is needed.
• Use equipment like walkers, lifts, or safety rails properly and safely.
• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Offer emotional support during times of loneliness, grief, or cognitive decline.

Preferred:

• Pays attention to small details like hydration, sleep habits, or emotional changes that may affect well-being.
• Enjoys building trust and improving the quality of life for those in need of care.
• Willing to perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean living environment.
• Able to offer emotional support, engage in meaningful conversation, and reduce isolation through companionship.
• Able to assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while respecting the dignity and privacy of clients.

You’ll prepare simple meals and snacks, sometimes based on dietary restrictions or texture preferences. You’ll respond calmly to mood swings, forgetfulness, or frustration, offering reassurance and routine-based care. You’ll be expected to work with compassion and professionalism — even through meltdowns, communication struggles, or repetitive routines. You’ll receive guidance from daytime staff and pass along complete reports to ensure continuity of care. You’ll be expected to arrive on time, maintain privacy, and honor the pace and preferences of the individual. You’ll be expected to maintain confidentiality, punctuality, and reliability as a valued member of the client’s daily routine.
