Description:

We’re offering a hands-on trainee position for someone who dreams of becoming a compassionate and capable elementary school teacher. You’ll start each day with a smile, helping set up the classroom so it’s calm, clean, and ready for learning. From day one, you’ll support young students with hands-on help during lessons, activities, and transitions throughout the school day. You’ll learn to manage energy levels, support different personalities, and adapt when things don’t go as planned — which happens often in education! You’ll help guide classroom behavior using patience, fairness, and consistent expectations. You’ll support students one-on-one when they need extra help — with reading, math, or even just tying their shoes. You’ll gain insight into how children grow socially and emotionally — not just academically — and how teachers nurture that every day. We’ll coach you in classroom management strategies, positive reinforcement, and how to turn chaos into teachable moments. You’ll build relationships with students by being present, consistent, and genuinely interested in their progress and well-being.

Basic Qualifications:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects like math, reading, science, and social studies.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, respected, and valued.
• Document attendance, assessments, and behavioral notes accurately and confidentially.
• Support students’ social and emotional development through empathy, guidance, and positive reinforcement.
• Model patience, respect, and enthusiasm—your attitude sets the tone for your students.

Preferred:

• Background or passion in primary education, literacy, early childhood development, or pedagogy.
• Open to attending parent-teacher conferences, school events, and ongoing professional development workshops.
• Pays close attention to individual learning styles, social-emotional needs, and behavioral patterns.
• Familiar with educational tools such as Google Classroom, Seesaw, SMART Boards, or interactive whiteboards.
• Values patience, consistency, and enthusiasm in the learning environment.
