Description:

We’re hiring a Night Shift Security Guard Trainee for someone who’s alert, calm, and comfortable working independently during quiet hours. You’ll begin by shadowing experienced guards to understand patrol routes, entry procedures, and incident response protocols. You’ll be trained to monitor crowds, identify suspicious behavior, and respond calmly to incidents without escalating tension. You’ll be trained to handle intercom systems, surveillance monitors, and electronic keycard access tools. You’ll help conduct quiet patrols through parking areas, hallways, stairwells, and shared amenities like gyms or laundry rooms. You’ll learn how to recognize signs of unauthorized entry, property damage, or suspicious activity and report them promptly. You’ll be taught how to stay calm under pressure and respond appropriately to suspicious behavior or alarms. You’ll be taught how to write daily shift reports and escalate any safety concerns to property managers. You’ll receive instruction on fire alarm procedures, evacuation protocols, and how to guide residents safely in emergencies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Stay alert during long or overnight shifts, maintaining full awareness of surroundings.
• Follow post orders and shift instructions with attention to detail and accountability.
• Escort employees, visitors, or deliveries to and from buildings when security is requested.
• Treat all individuals with respect while upholding rules and regulations without bias.
• Use radios or mobile devices to stay in contact with other guards or supervisors.

Preferred:

• Understands basic conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
• Able to stay calm under pressure and follow post orders or protocols in various situations.
• Organized with shift handovers, key logs, visitor logs, and equipment tracking.
• Willing to perform bag checks, perimeter rounds, or alarm system checks if required.
• Willing to assist in maintaining order during events, deliveries, or shift changes.
