Description:

We’re looking for a Gardener / Landscaper Trainee who wants to work with the earth, learn by doing, and make outdoor spaces come alive. You don’t need any prior experience — just a respect for nature, a willingness to get your hands dirty, and a positive attitude. You’ll start with basic tasks like raking, watering, weeding, and helping move soil, mulch, and plants. You’ll begin with tasks like watering, weeding, carrying tools, and helping set up planting beds. You’ll learn how to care for lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and trees in all kinds of weather and soil conditions. You’ll also begin to understand how seasons affect plants — when to plant, when to prune, and when to let things rest. Expect to work outdoors in all weather — hot sun, cool mornings, and sometimes muddy ground — and go home with tired hands and a clear head. You’ll discover how to prepare soil, transplant plants without damaging roots, and create healthy growing environments. We’ll guide you through tool safety, plant identification, and eco-friendly techniques that protect local ecosystems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Track hours, materials used, or tasks completed using logs or apps for reporting and billing purposes.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or mulch as needed to promote plant health and control pests or weeds according to environmental regulations.
• Trim trees, remove dead branches, and support proper tree structure using appropriate pruning methods.
• Provide input on design improvements or efficiency upgrades that could improve visual appeal or lower maintenance.
• Read and follow site plans, blueprints, or garden designs to install and maintain landscapes accurately.

Preferred:

• Organized in managing garden waste, tool storage, and on-site cleanliness.
• Can manage time efficiently and complete tasks to meet project deadlines.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding labor.
• Pays attention to detail when shaping hedges, edging beds, or maintaining symmetry in plant layouts.
• Knowledge of basic plant care, soil types, pest control, and irrigation practices.
