We’re looking for a Building Maintenance Technician Trainee who’s eager to learn, even if you’ve never fixed anything before. You don’t need a toolbox or experience — just show up ready to listen, work, and improve every day. No problem — we’ll train you in the real world, one task at a time. At first, your days will involve assisting in basic repairs, organizing supplies, and learning how building systems work. You’ll start to understand how heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical components are maintained day to day. You’ll discover how heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems work together in real time. You’ll learn how to report issues, follow up on open tickets, and stay on top of routine inspections. You’ll help with routine inspections, note any issues, and assist in minor repairs across the building. You’ll walk a lot, climb stairs, lift equipment, and sometimes get dusty — but you’ll always be supported.

Basic Qualifications:

• Operate and monitor building systems such as boilers, chillers, fire alarms, and security systems under supervision or per checklist.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems such as plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and electrical components.
• Perform light plumbing repairs such as fixing faucets, toilets, or drain blockages without needing a licensed plumber.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies (e.g., power outages, water leaks, security alarms) according to building protocols.
• Identify opportunities to improve building energy efficiency, safety, or space functionality and report them to management.

Preferred:

• Familiar with digital work order systems, building management software, or spreadsheets.
• Willing to suggest improvements to energy efficiency, equipment longevity, or repair processes.
• Pays close attention to safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.
• Thrives in environments where no two days are exactly the same and work has a direct impact.
• Understands how to read blueprints, equipment manuals, or work orders.
