Description:
We’re hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician who knows that accuracy isn’t optional — it’s everything. You’ll handle blood, tissue, and fluid samples with care, focus, and full responsibility for what comes next. From blood draws to slide preparation, from centrifuge to analyzer — you’ll know each step, and why it matters. You’ll process tests efficiently, but never at the expense of quality or precision. You know that behind every label is a real person waiting on results, and that’s why you never cut corners. You’ll start with basics: labeling tubes, organizing paperwork, prepping stations, shadowing sample processing, and cleaning equipment with care. You’ll work with pathologists, physicians, and nurses to deliver results that drive real medical decisions. Your workspace will be organized, your records neat, and your attention always where it needs to be. Your job may not involve direct patient contact — but your work will directly affect diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes. You’ll begin to understand how lab values connect to patient symptoms, how flags are reviewed, and when results need a second check.
Basic Qualifications:
- Troubleshoot instrument errors or test inconsistencies and escalate complex issues to senior lab personnel or equipment vendors.
- Maintain organized records of test batches, equipment logs, reagent inventory, and maintenance schedules for audits and inspections.
- Keep current with new testing methods, laboratory techniques, and industry standards through continued education or training.
- Collect, prepare, and analyze biological specimens such as blood, urine, tissue, or swabs following strict laboratory protocols.
- Stay calm and focused during high-pressure situations like outbreaks, lab surges, or critical result processing.
Preferred:
- Familiar with common clinical terminology, units of measurement, and normal value ranges.
- Comfortable communicating with medical staff regarding specimen status or unusual findings.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures, safety protocols, and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Comfortable with both manual techniques and automated systems.
- Enjoys supporting diagnosis and patient care through accurate and timely lab work.
Benefits:
- You’ll work in a calm, respectful setting where science and care meet.
- And yes, we’ll make sure your equipment works, your efforts are appreciated, and your career has room to grow — one clean slide or calibrated centrifuge at a time.
- You’ll collaborate with doctors, pathologists, nurses, and lab peers — your work is part of a wider care chain.
- Breaks are real, PPE is stocked, and you’ll never be left to guess without support.
- Team rituals include safety huddles, “weirdest specimen of the week,” and lab wins boards that don’t forget the quiet work.
You’ll learn how to verify identifiers, follow barcode systems, and prevent data loss or sample confusion at every stage. You’ll receive feedback, ask lots of questions, and be encouraged to slow down when the task requires it. You’ll learn how to work efficiently without rushing, and how to prioritize accuracy over speed when it counts most. You’ll have moments of routine, but also those small “a-ha” insights when something finally clicks — and we’ll celebrate that with you. You’ll gain respect not by knowing everything, but by showing up ready to improve, ask, repeat, and get it right. You’ll leave each shift knowing you contributed to something bigger, even if you never saw the patient face-to-face. If you care deeply about doing things right — even when no one’s watching — you’ll fit right in with us. You’ll begin as an observer, but you’re expected to grow into a contributor — someone trusted to perform basic procedures to protocol. If you’re ready to build serious technical habits, work under strict standards, and grow in a professional medical lab setting — we’re ready to train you properly.
