Description:

We’re looking for a motivated Junior Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to building robust backend services and APIs. You’ll work with experienced developers to develop scalable and efficient backend systems that support our frontend applications. You’ll assist in writing clean and well-documented code using backend technologies such as Node. You’ll write clean, maintainable code using programming languages like Node. You’ll assist in managing databases, ensuring data is stored securely and efficiently, and supporting scalable solutions. You’ll be responsible for helping design and implement APIs that allow communication between the backend and frontend systems. You’ll be responsible for building and optimizing RESTful APIs to support new features and services. You’ll troubleshoot and debug issues, working to improve system performance and resolve bottlenecks. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement backend solutions that align with business goals and user needs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Keep your local environment organized—env files, seed scripts, API docs—all make onboarding easier for others.
• Help manage and query relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases with care for performance and accuracy.
• Monitor logs and system metrics to help identify performance bottlenecks, errors, or unusual behavior.
• Ask questions and seek mentorship when stuck—backend development can be complex, but learning fast matters more than knowing everything.
• Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and fixing bugs in backend services, logging issues and applying patches.

Preferred:

• Can write clean, readable, and reusable code with comments and basic documentation.
• Able to connect frontend applications with backend services for full-stack functionality.
• Understands the basics of error handling, logging, and debugging backend services.
• Background or strong interest in computer science, backend development, or cloud infrastructure.
• Proficient in at least one backend language such as Node.js, Python, Java, or PHP.
