Description:
We’re welcoming a Nanny Intern who’s ready to learn how to care for children with patience, creativity, and responsibility. You’ll start by shadowing experienced caregivers, learning routines, safety practices, and how to handle different age groups. You’ll be taught how to soothe fussiness, read nonverbal cues, and comfort babies during teething or tummy troubles. You’ll help create a calm, stimulating space where children feel encouraged to ask questions and express themselves freely. You’ll be shown how to track small developmental milestones and support physical, social, and cognitive growth. You’ll be trained on how to respond to tantrums, separation anxiety, and sibling disagreements with patience and structure. You’ll learn how to adapt your tone and approach to different ages — from toddlers to early school-age children. You’ll help guide shared routines such as family meals, bedtime rituals, and getting ready for school or outings. You’ll learn how to engage children in storytelling, crafts, games, and light educational exercises based on their age and needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Assist with light household tasks related to childcare, like washing bottles or organizing toys.
- Create a calm bedtime routine when working evenings, including bath, stories, and quiet time.
- Stay up to date on basic first aid, CPR, and child safety practices.
- Support children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development in daily interactions.
- Limit screen time appropriately and provide engaging offline alternatives.
Preferred:
- Background or interest in early childhood education, family care, or child psychology.
- Values empathy, patience, and trustworthiness in every interaction with children.
- Able to adapt to different family schedules, routines, or travel needs when necessary.
- Thrives in home-based, child-centered settings where flexibility and warmth are essential.
- Capable of maintaining a log or summary of daily activities for parental review.
Benefits:
- You’re trusted with what matters most — and we never take that lightly.
- You're treated as a partner in the child’s development — not just hired help.
- We celebrate effort — not just Pinterest-perfect moments.
- You're part of the family rhythm — birthdays, traditions, even tiny celebrations.
- Respectful family environment — communication is kind, clear, and consistent.
You’ll be taught how to observe and report any signs of illness, discomfort, or behavioral changes. You’ll support nap and rest routines, knowing when to help a child wind down and when to energize with activity. You’ll receive feedback and guidance on how to build trust with families and respect each household’s unique parenting style. You’ll grow in your confidence week by week, gradually taking more initiative while staying alert and attentive. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, share creative activity ideas, and reflect on your caregiving experiences. This internship is ideal for someone exploring careers in early education, family services, or professional nanny work. This internship is perfect for someone considering a future in childcare, early childhood development, or pediatric support. If you believe children deserve attention, creativity, and a nurturing guide, we’d love to support your journey into childcare.
