Description:

We’re welcoming a passionate Elementary School Teacher Trainee who believes every child deserves a warm, supportive, and engaging learning environment. As a trainee, you’ll observe real classroom dynamics, support students in their day-to-day learning, and gradually take on more responsibilities with guidance. You’ll shadow experienced teachers, observe their teaching styles, and begin to understand what effective instruction really looks like. You’ll learn to manage energy levels, support different personalities, and adapt when things don’t go as planned — which happens often in education! You’ll help guide classroom behavior using patience, fairness, and consistent expectations. You’ll help students stay engaged during story time, science experiments, and group discussions. You’ll gain insight into how children grow socially and emotionally — not just academically — and how teachers nurture that every day. You’ll learn how to adjust to different student personalities and support those who may be struggling emotionally or academically. You’ll build relationships with students by being present, consistent, and genuinely interested in their progress and well-being.

Basic Qualifications:

• Tailor support for students with special needs or learning accommodations, working closely with specialists when needed.
• Help students navigate conflicts, build friendships, and learn emotional self-regulation.
• Be the kind of teacher they’ll remember not just for what you taught, but how you made them feel.
• Encourage curiosity, collaboration, and kindness inside and outside the classroom.
• Stay up to date on curriculum standards, teaching methods, and child development research.

Preferred:

• Thrives in energetic, creative classrooms where every day brings new opportunities to teach and grow.
• Familiar with educational tools such as Google Classroom, Seesaw, SMART Boards, or interactive whiteboards.
• Willing to collaborate with support staff, special education teachers, or counselors for student success.
• Comfortable incorporating arts, music, movement, and play into the daily routine.
• Comfortable using various instructional strategies including group work, hands-on activities, and technology integration.
