Description:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Transcriptionist to join our team and transcribe audio and video files into written documents. You’ll be responsible for transcribing recordings, ensuring all dialogue, speaker labels, and background noises are accurately noted. You’ll ensure every transcription is clear, well-structured, and includes accurate timestamps, speaker identification, and necessary formatting. You’ll ensure that all transcriptions are clear, organized, and meet client requirements, including timestamps and special formatting requests. You’ll use transcription software and tools to ensure efficiency, but also maintain a high level of precision. You’ll proofread and edit your work to ensure the final transcript is clear, concise, and free from mistakes. You’ll be expected to work independently and handle confidential information with care, adhering to confidentiality guidelines. You’ll ensure that all transcripts are delivered within agreed-upon deadlines, managing your time and workload effectively.

Basic Qualifications:

• Listen to audio or video recordings and accurately convert spoken content into written text, maintaining clarity and context.
• Identify speakers in multi-person recordings and label dialogue clearly, even in fast-paced or overlapping conversations.
• Provide captioning or subtitle files (SRT, VTT) when needed, syncing dialogue to timecodes accurately.
• Support accessibility efforts by transcribing content for deaf or hard-of-hearing audiences.
• Transcribe a variety of materials including interviews, podcasts, meetings, lectures, webinars, and legal or medical recordings.

Preferred:

• Familiar with audio file formats (MP3, WAV, M4A) and basic troubleshooting.
• Can follow style guides such as verbatim or clean-read depending on client requirements.
• Understands how to properly format transcripts for readability and consistency.
• Fast and accurate typing skills, ideally 60+ words per minute.
• Capable of editing and proofreading transcripts before submission.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all transcriptions are delivered on time and meet the specific requirements set by the client. You’ll collaborate with other team members, including proofreaders and project managers, to ensure consistent results across projects. You’ll stay organized and keep accurate records of all your transcriptions, tracking progress and ensuring efficient workflow management. You’ll deliver completed transcriptions on time, managing your workload and prioritizing tasks to meet project deadlines. You’ll follow specific client instructions for formatting, ensuring that each transcription is tailored to their needs. You’ll manage multiple transcription projects at once, ensuring that each task is completed to a high standard. This remote role offers flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere while delivering high-quality transcription services.
