Description:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Transcriptionist to join our team and transcribe audio and video files into written documents. You’ll be responsible for transcribing recordings, ensuring all dialogue, speaker labels, and background noises are accurately noted. You’ll ensure the transcription process is precise, capturing every detail, including speaker names, timestamps, and non-verbal cues. You’ll work with various formats, including audio, video, and even live transcriptions, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work. You’ll proofread your work to guarantee it’s free from errors and ensure that transcriptions are polished and easy to read. You’ll manage your time efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality in your work. You’ll be working with diverse content, including legal, medical, and technical audio, requiring specialized knowledge for accuracy. You’ll collaborate with clients to ensure that transcriptions meet their needs and are delivered promptly.

Basic Qualifications:

• Support accessibility efforts by transcribing content for deaf or hard-of-hearing audiences.
• Provide captioning or subtitle files (SRT, VTT) when needed, syncing dialogue to timecodes accurately.
• Use foot pedals, noise-canceling headphones, and other tools to improve efficiency and clarity when working with difficult audio.
• Communicate professionally with clients to confirm instructions, request extensions, or clarify unclear parts of recordings.
• Handle rush orders or urgent transcription requests while still meeting quality expectations.

Preferred:

• Able to distinguish between multiple speakers and add appropriate labels or timestamps.
• Understands how to properly format transcripts for readability and consistency.
• Willing to research unclear terms, names, or references to ensure accurate transcription.
• Enjoys turning spoken content into accurate, structured, and searchable text.
• Comfortable working with audio that includes accents, background noise, or technical terminology.
