You’ll support scheduled shut-offs or reconnections for water service and notify affected residents when necessary. You’ll rotate through landmark zones such as waterfront rails, civic monuments, observation points, or viewing decks.
Basic Qualifications:

- Assist with installation or upgrades of pipes, meters, hydrants, or other public service components.
- Coordinate with other departments, contractors, or emergency personnel as needed on job sites.

- Perform maintenance and repair work on public infrastructure such as water lines, sewer systems, or streetlights.
Preferred:
- Understands the importance of protecting public infrastructure and keeping communities safe and functional.
- Experience performing maintenance, repair, or cleaning work in public works, utilities, or municipal services.
- Values responsibility, safety, and hard work in serving the local community.
- Pays attention to the condition of city property and reports any hazards, damage, or repair needs.
- Familiar with environmental regulations, public safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
Benefits:
- A job with impact — your work provides essential services that keep the community functioning.
- Paid time off and holidays — because your well-being matters too.
- Supportive team environment — you’ll work with colleagues who respect your contributions and expertise.
- A professional, respectful environment — you’ll work with a team that values your skills and contributions.
- You’ll make a tangible impact — keeping the lights on, water flowing, and gas available is a critical service.
You’ll assist in loading materials, fueling machines, and prepping trucks at the start and end of each shift. You’ll work alongside gardeners, custodians, and arborists to understand the full scope of public landscape care. You’ll work as part of a small crew where communication, reliability, and pride in your work are key. You’ll interact courteously with the public and answer basic questions about services or scheduled activities. You’ll rotate between multiple parks and green spaces in your district to keep each area consistent and well-maintained. You’ll help track tasks completed, materials used, and areas serviced each day on digital or paper logs. No previous experience is required — just a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a desire to keep your city clean and functional.
