Description:

We’re looking for a Clinical Psychologist Trainee who’s ready to quietly observe, deeply listen, and learn how healing happens one session at a time — no experience needed, just maturity, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility. You’ll support licensed psychologists in preparing session notes, researching therapeutic techniques, and maintaining case documentation. We’ll teach you how to observe therapeutic sessions with clinical intent — noting not just what’s said, but how it’s said. You’ll attend case consultations, explore diagnostic frameworks, and understand how theory meets practice. Expect to gain exposure to common treatment methods like CBT, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. You’ll gain exposure to a range of cases — from mild anxiety to complex trauma — and learn how each requires a unique approach. We’ll guide you in understanding how therapy is structured — from intake interviews to session planning and progress tracking. You’ll sit in on supervised sessions (where appropriate) and participate in debriefings with the clinical team. You’ll gain awareness of how culture, background, and environment affect client experiences and therapeutic rapport.

Basic Qualifications:

• Balance a demanding caseload while avoiding burnout through supervision and self-care.
• Supervise interns or junior clinicians if licensed and experienced.
• Stay up to date on research, continuing education, and licensure requirements.
• Diagnose mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or personality disorders.
• Recognize when to refer patients to higher levels of care or specialized services.

Preferred:

• Wants to grow into roles like Clinical Supervisor, Program Director, or Research Psychologist.
• Proficient in applying therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or psychodynamic therapy.
• Enjoys helping individuals build insight, emotional regulation, and resilience.
• Organized with session scheduling, intake documentation, and referral coordination.
• Can maintain accurate records for case reviews, insurance compliance, or research purposes.
