Description:

We’re looking for a responsible and proactive Discord Moderator to join our team and help manage our online community. You’ll be responsible for monitoring interactions, enforcing server rules, and making sure all members feel safe and valued. You’ll help resolve conflicts, mediate disputes, and ensure that members feel comfortable engaging within the community. You’ll collaborate with other moderators to resolve conflicts, mediate disputes, and ensure that all community guidelines are followed. You’ll work with the moderation team to address inappropriate content, provide warnings, and take action against rule violations. You’ll stay active in the community, participating in discussions and ensuring that members adhere to server rules. You’ll be responsible for onboarding new members, answering questions, and guiding them on how to navigate the server. You’ll address user concerns and provide assistance as needed, helping to resolve issues quickly and fairly.

Basic Qualifications:

• Avoid power-tripping or playing favorites—moderation is about fairness, not ego.
• Help maintain a positive atmosphere by leading through example—being calm, kind, and fair even under pressure.
• Support events, announcements, or partnerships by pinning messages, tagging roles, and helping manage live interactions.
• Participate in mod meetings, contribute to rule updates, and stay aligned with the overall tone and goals of the community.
• Warn, mute, kick, or ban users when necessary to address spam, harassment, or other rule violations—using moderation tools like Dyno, Carl-bot, or MEE6.

Preferred:

• Background or interest in online communities, gaming, education, or fan spaces.
• Comfortable volunteering a few hours per week and being consistent with availability.
• Familiar with Discord and actively participates in servers as a community member.
• Wants to help maintain a welcoming, inclusive space for people from different backgrounds.
• Enjoys being part of a team and working behind the scenes to help things run smoothly.

You’ll help maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment by addressing toxic behavior and ensuring everyone is treated fairly. You’ll provide timely responses to members’ inquiries, offering assistance and resolving issues as they arise. You’ll stay updated with Discord platform changes and implement new features to improve community interaction and moderation. This remote role offers flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere while helping manage a vibrant online community.
