Description:

We’re hiring a Plumber Trainee to assist with heating system installations and maintenance — ideal for someone who’s technically curious, safety-conscious, and wants to master the systems that keep buildings warm. You’ll begin by shadowing licensed plumbers on residential and commercial jobs, learning how to work safely and efficiently on-site. You’ll help assess situations quickly, shut off valves, and communicate calmly with distressed clients on arrival. You’ll be trained to replace flexible hoses, traps, washers, cartridges, and other small parts quickly and cleanly. You’ll help with simple tasks such as tightening joints, cutting pipe, cleaning drains, and removing old hardware. You’ll observe how to read blueprints, locate shut-off valves, and plan pipe routes in new or existing structures. You’ll help log completed work, track parts used, and report larger system issues for escalation. You’ll assist in installing shutoff valves, cleanouts, and other code-required components at proper intervals. You’ll be taught to read schematics for heating zones, manifold layout, and pump wiring.

Basic Qualifications:

• Use tools such as pipe cutters, plungers, augers, and inspection cameras with precision.
• Install appliances like dishwashers, water softeners, or sump pumps as needed.
• Estimate job materials and labor costs for quotes or invoicing purposes.
• Replace worn or damaged parts like faucets, valves, and gaskets to restore function.
• Take pride in providing essential services that keep water flowing and homes functioning.

Preferred:

• Organized with maintaining work logs, customer service forms, part orders, and billing records.
• Familiar with both residential and commercial plumbing systems including kitchens, bathrooms, and utility lines.
• Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining water supply lines, drainage systems, and plumbing fixtures.
• Able to provide accurate cost estimates, timelines, and scope of work before beginning a job.
• Enjoys solving real-world problems with practical solutions and skilled craftsmanship.
