Description:

We’re looking for an Actuary Trainee who’s ready to apply mathematical thinking to real-world uncertainty — no previous experience required, just strong logic, curiosity, and precision. You’ll work alongside experienced actuaries to assist with forecasting, modeling, and analyzing large sets of financial data. We’ll teach you how to collect, clean, and interpret data to support pricing, forecasting, and decision-making. You’ll help assess risks in areas like insurance, pensions, or investment products, depending on the team you join. Expect to work on both short-term projects like pricing support and long-term forecasting across multiple sectors. You’ll learn about reserves, premiums, and solvency — and how actuaries help companies stay financially prepared. We’ll show you how to present complex data in ways that support better, faster decisions for stakeholders. You’ll sit in on meetings where risk is discussed not just mathematically, but as business impact. We’ll show you how to stress-test assumptions and identify weaknesses in financial models before they become risks.

Basic Qualifications:

• Perform scenario testing to evaluate the impact of events like inflation spikes, market crashes, or demographic shifts.
• Review reinsurance arrangements and evaluate how they affect risk exposure and capital needs.
• Break down large problems into smaller pieces, testing assumptions and dependencies carefully.
• Communicate uncertainty, confidence intervals, and model limitations honestly and effectively.
• Train or mentor junior actuarial staff and help them prepare for certification exams.

Preferred:

• Can contribute to product development, solvency modeling, or strategic planning initiatives.
• Familiar with building models to assess risk, calculate premiums, and forecast future liabilities.
• Familiar with concepts like mortality tables, loss ratios, claim development, and reinsurance.
• Can communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including management and clients.
• Comfortable using tools like Excel (with advanced functions), SAS, Prophet, or VBA for data manipulation.
