Description:

We’re welcoming a motivated Architect Trainee to join our design studio and learn how great spaces are imagined, refined, and realized — no experience necessary, just passion and a sharp eye. You’ll work alongside architects on real projects, assisting with initial concepts, spatial layouts, and technical plans. We’ll teach you how to apply principles of proportion, scale, and context to make your ideas work in the real world. You’ll help create renderings, diagrams, and design documents that communicate ideas to clients and contractors. You’ll help with producing project documents, zoning research, and reference boards for internal and client presentations. You’ll gain exposure to sustainable architecture principles, passive design techniques, and energy-conscious planning. We’ll guide you through the basics of model-making, detailing, and material selection. You’ll participate in internal reviews, giving and receiving feedback to sharpen your creative instincts. You’ll contribute to documentation for planning applications, code compliance, and sustainable certifications.

Basic Qualifications:

• Balance innovation with constraints like cost, space, and environmental impact.
• Stay up-to-date on local building codes, ADA requirements, and safety standards.
• Ensure architectural integrity and coherence across all project elements and disciplines.
• Reflect on past designs to improve future work—every project is a teacher.
• Lead design review meetings, pitch bold ideas, and accept constructive feedback gracefully.

Preferred:

• Willing to lead or contribute to design reviews, client meetings, and project coordination sessions.
• Able to manage multiple design iterations and communicate rationale for each decision.
• Enjoys solving spatial challenges and creating meaningful, lasting structures.
• Familiar with zoning laws, permitting processes, and sustainable building practices.
• Pays attention to materials, structural feasibility, and spatial planning in every project.
