Description:

We’re hiring a Commercial Locksmith to install, maintain, and troubleshoot lock systems in office buildings, hotels, schools, and warehouses — perfect for someone who’s detail-oriented, discreet, and experienced with large-scale security systems. You’ll respond to calls for lockouts, key replacements, broken locks, and security upgrades in homes, businesses, and vehicles. You’ll remove old hardware, prepare doors and frames, and ensure seamless installation of new digital access products. You’ll cut and program transponder keys, key fobs, remote start systems, and push-to-start units using diagnostic equipment. You’ll repair or replace worn cylinders, broken card readers, misaligned strike plates, and faulty door hardware. You’ll be trained in programming codes, setting user permissions, and integrating locks with other smart home ecosystems. You’ll communicate with dispatch, log job status, and report completion using mobile apps or radio systems. You’ll rotate between residential upgrades, short-term rental clients, office access systems, and tech-savvy homeowners. You’ll rotate between emergency calls, dealership support, and scheduled rekeys or upgrades throughout your shift.

Basic Qualifications:

• Offer advice on lock brands, security upgrades, or burglary prevention techniques.
• Train apprentices or junior locksmiths in proper techniques and industry ethics.
• Work on automotive locks—cutting transponder keys, reprogramming FOBs, or unlocking doors.
• Cut new keys, rekey existing locks, and program electronic or smart locking systems.
• Respond promptly to scheduled jobs and urgent calls, even during nights or weekends.

Preferred:

• Comfortable working from a mobile locksmith van or in a shop setting depending on client needs.
• Proficient in key cutting, lock rekeying, and duplicating using manual or automated machines.
• Organized with maintaining service records, key logs, and customer documentation for security compliance.
• Familiar with pin tumbler systems, electronic locks, smart locks, and access control technologies.
• Comfortable interpreting lock diagrams, manufacturer specs, or key code charts during service calls.

You’ll be expected to communicate clearly, build trust, and maintain professionalism with customers during stressful situations. You’ll follow local and national locksmith regulations, including licensing, proof-of-ownership checks, and lockout documentation. You’ll be responsible for organizing your parts inventory, lock cores, blanks, and specialty tools in your van or shop bench. You’ll assist with fleet key duplication, valet key management, and remote inventory for car rental or ride-share companies. You’ll receive ongoing training in code compliance, fire safety hardware, and local security standards. You’ll work mostly during the day with optional weekend or evening calls depending on demand. Previous locksmith or hardware experience is a plus — but we’re also ready to train quick learners with strong mechanical aptitude.
