Description:

We’re hiring a CNC Machine Operator Trainee to work with high-strength materials — the kind that require precision, patience, and a respect for every cut you make. You’ll be responsible for setting up, running, and monitoring CNC machines to produce high-quality parts that meet exact specifications. You’ll be trained by day-shift machinists first, learning the machines, safety procedures, and how to run production step by step. Once you’re ready, you’ll transition to nights, where your job is to keep parts moving, tools sharp, and tolerances tight. You’ll run CNC equipment during off-hours, with support nearby but not always right next to you — and that trust means something here. You’ll inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and visual checks to ensure everything is within tolerance. You’ll learn how to read digital readouts, make minor offset adjustments, and stop the machine when something doesn’t sound right. You’ll assist with auto-pallet changers, chip conveyors, and probe systems that verify part dimensions between cycles. You’ll learn why precision starts before the cycle runs — from coolant flow to machine warmup, from zero offsets to tool height settings.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Stay current with updates in CNC technology, machining techniques, and material handling procedures through ongoing learning.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, or changing coolant to keep machines in proper working condition.
  • Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE when working with machinery, sharp tools, or hot surfaces.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and work instructions to understand specifications and machining sequences.
  • Ultimately, ensure precision parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and safely—supporting the backbone of modern manufacturing.

Preferred:

  • Able to work with metals, plastics, or composites depending on production needs.
  • Values precision, consistency, and quality in every stage of the machining process.
  • Familiar with reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
  • Open to working multiple shifts, including nights or weekends based on plant schedules.
  • Experience running quality checks and documenting measurements for QA reporting.

Benefits:

  • Paid overtime if you want it, no pressure if you don’t.
  • No BS dress code — just stay safe and comfy.
  • We celebrate wins, birthdays, and finished batches alike.
  • We don’t expect perfection on day one — we teach, not criticize.
  • No toxic culture, just solid people who know their craft.

You’ll handle tools that cost hundreds of dollars — and learn how to extend their life, not break them through guesswork. You’ll work alongside experienced machinists and programmers who respect the machines — but also know their limits. You’ll take detailed notes, follow setup sheets, and learn how to read blueprints — even if the lighting’s dim and the clock says 3:00 a. You’ll track part history, update digital logs, and learn how data drives decisions on the modern floor — not just gut feeling. You’ll be expected to stay organized, meet production goals, and contribute to a clean, efficient workspace. You’ll operate with consistency, focus, and a respect for craftsmanship that goes beyond just pressing "start. You’ll finish your training with a real understanding of machining principles, modern systems, and what makes a production floor world-class. If you’re curious, careful, and ready to grow in a place where craftsmanship meets technology — we’re ready to train you. ” If you value quiet focus, technical skill, and the satisfaction of solo work done well — we’re ready to train you after dark.
