Description:

We’re hiring an Automotive Locksmith to help drivers regain access to their vehicles and solve lock and key issues on the go — perfect for someone who’s fast-thinking, mechanically skilled, and confident working under pressure. You’ll respond to calls for lockouts, key replacements, broken locks, and security upgrades in homes, businesses, and vehicles. You’ll use lock-picking tools, bypass devices, extractors, and drills to gain access without causing damage whenever possible. You’ll help customers regain entry when locked out, always verifying identity and following safety protocols before proceeding. You’ll extract broken keys from ignitions and doors, replace cylinders, and repair switch assemblies as needed. You’ll be trained in managing digital locks, keypad systems, RFID access, and integration with alarm or fire exit systems. You’ll maintain your service vehicle with all tools, blanks, lubricants, and hardware needed for a variety of jobs. You’ll rotate between residential upgrades, short-term rental clients, office access systems, and tech-savvy homeowners. You’ll maintain documentation for each site, including key logs, work orders, and digital access history when applicable.

Basic Qualifications:

• Work on automotive locks—cutting transponder keys, reprogramming FOBs, or unlocking doors.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and local regulations.
• Train apprentices or junior locksmiths in proper techniques and industry ethics.
• Provide security assessments for homes, businesses, or vehicles and suggest improvements.
• Cut new keys, rekey existing locks, and program electronic or smart locking systems.

Preferred:

• Thrives in independent, trust-based roles where technical skill and discretion are essential.
• Understands how to protect client confidentiality and handle sensitive security information responsibly.
• Organized with maintaining service records, key logs, and customer documentation for security compliance.
• Familiar with basic electronics, wiring, or battery replacement for digital lock systems.
• Willing to respond to emergency calls, including lockouts, lost keys, or broken locks, often after hours or on weekends.

You’ll drive a service vehicle equipped with modern tools, digital hardware, and support gear for smart installs. You’ll follow local and national locksmith regulations, including licensing, proof-of-ownership checks, and lockout documentation. You’ll be responsible for organizing your parts inventory, lock cores, blanks, and specialty tools in your van or shop bench. You’ll receive support from a central operations team that helps with routing, call screening, and technical support if needed. You’ll work independently on the road, managing dispatches and customer communication via mobile app or radio. You’ll work mostly during the day with optional weekend or evening calls depending on demand.
