Description:

We’re hiring a Social Worker to support families in navigating stress, conflict, and life transitions — ideal for someone who believes in healing relationships through empathy, structure, and steady guidance. You’ll engage directly with unhoused individuals in shelters, encampments, drop-in centers, or on the streets to build trust and offer support. You’ll help assess basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, addiction treatment, and mental health support. You’ll help patients understand their care options, insurance coverage, and available support services. You’ll assist in crisis intervention, supporting students experiencing bullying, neglect, abuse, or sudden loss. You’ll be trained in trauma-informed care, domestic safety planning, and culturally sensitive approaches to family systems. You’ll assist with home visits, school meetings, and community referrals as part of a whole-family support model. You’ll coordinate with other professionals — from nurses to case managers to counselors — to ensure holistic care. You’ll document visits, referrals, and outcomes while maintaining confidentiality and trauma-informed practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Handle emotional stress in a healthy way and seek supervision or support when needed.
  • Educate clients on their rights and available benefits to promote empowerment and independence.
  • Adapt quickly to new challenges, whether it’s a policy change or an urgent client crisis.
  • Build trust with clients by being reliable, nonjudgmental, and solution-focused.
  • Facilitate support groups or workshops on topics like parenting, coping skills, or life transitions.

Preferred:

  • Background or passion in advocacy, social justice, family services, or mental health support.
  • Understands trauma-informed care principles, cultural sensitivity, and inclusive communication practices.
  • Familiar with coordinating with public agencies, NGOs, or case workers to ensure holistic support.
  • Thrives in people-focused environments where compassion and structure go hand in hand.
  • Pays close attention to documentation, timely reporting, and maintaining accurate client records.

Benefits:

  • A job that matters — you’ll leave work each day knowing you’ve helped someone improve their life.
  • Recognition — the hard work you do is seen, and we take time to appreciate your contributions.
  • Training and professional development — we offer workshops, certifications, and continued education to help you grow.
  • Paid time off and holidays — because you deserve time to recharge.
  • Supervision and support — you’re not alone in this role, and we provide guidance when you need it.

You’ll document progress, behavior, and incidents thoroughly while respecting confidentiality and child protection laws. You’ll work in emergency rooms, ICUs, oncology units, maternity wards, or behavioral health departments depending on your caseload. You’ll lead or support group sessions, workshops, or community meetings depending on your assignment and training. You’ll help connect patients with social services, financial aid, legal assistance, or community-based follow-up care. You’ll be a steady source of calm during high-stress conversations, guiding families toward empathy and shared goals. You’ll receive ongoing supervision, trauma-informed care training, and support from senior social work staff. You’ll work in office settings, schools, hospitals, shelters, or directly in the community, depending on the caseload. If you’re ready to be a steady presence in a young person’s life, we’re ready to train and support you as a youth-focused Social Worker. If you're ready to help households reconnect, stabilize, and grow together, we’re ready to welcome you to family social work.
