Description:

We’re hiring Phlebotomist Trainees for night shifts in a hospital setting — no experience required, just reliability, composure, and a readiness to learn under pressure. You’ll help collect blood from volunteer donors — the people who show up to save lives with nothing more than their time and compassion. We’ll teach you how to prepare the space, engage with families, and explain procedures in kid-friendly language. You’ll learn to draw blood using proper technique, maintain sterile procedures, and monitor donors for reactions or discomfort. This job is about skill and safety — but also about gratitude, encouragement, and clear communication. You’ll be taught how to set up collection bags, label samples, and follow strict tracking and storage protocols. You’ll often be one of the few people patients see overnight — and your presence can bring comfort during uncertain hours. We’ll guide you in staying calm during high-volume donation drives and how to keep lines moving while giving each person your full attention. You’ll also learn to handle difficult veins, time-sensitive collections, and how to work efficiently during busy shifts.

Basic Qualifications:

• Dispose of needles, gloves, and biohazard waste properly after each draw.
• Adjust techniques for patients with special needs or medical conditions.
• Take pride in your role—small vials, big impact on someone’s health.
• Use electronic health records (EHR) systems to update patient info and order statuses.
• Participate in regular training on safety, infection control, and new procedures.

Preferred:

• Capable of maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Understands how to label, store, and transport specimens in compliance with lab protocols.
• Experience drawing blood from patients of all ages in hospital, clinic, or lab settings.
• Familiar with infection control, universal precautions, and sharps safety protocols.
• Can enter patient and specimen data into electronic medical records or lab systems.
