Description:

We’re hiring a Paramedic Trainee who’s ready to learn how to respond quickly, think clearly, and act compassionately in emergency medical situations. You’ll begin by supporting paramedics who respond to farms, villages, and rural roads where time and distance are critical factors. You’ll assist in restocking ambulances with medical supplies, checking equipment like defibrillators, oxygen tanks, and trauma kits before each shift. You’ll learn how to treat minor injuries like cuts, sprains, fainting episodes, or heat exhaustion with professionalism and speed. You’ll learn to remain calm when scenes are chaotic, and how to focus on what must be done first to save lives. You’ll assist with basic care tasks like helping patients in and out of the ambulance, securing straps, and adjusting pillows or blankets. You’ll assist in lifting and moving patients safely, following ergonomic techniques and team coordination. You’ll assist with coordinating responses to emergencies in loud, crowded, and sometimes chaotic spaces. You’ll be taught how to use communication skills to reassure patients, manage panicked family members, and stay focused under pressure.

Basic Qualifications:

• Communicate clearly with dispatch, hospital staff, and fellow responders to coordinate care.
• Adapt care strategies depending on patient age, condition, location, or available resources.
• Work alongside police, firefighters, and other emergency services during complex incidents.
• Calmly handle incidents ranging from car accidents and heart attacks to overdoses and childbirth.
• Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in medical records and reports.

Preferred:

• Able to remain calm and focused during emergencies, including mass casualty incidents or high-risk environments.
• Experience providing emergency medical care in high-stress, time-sensitive situations such as accidents or cardiac events.
• Willing to mentor junior EMTs or participate in public health outreach and first-aid education.
• Capable of quick decision-making under pressure while maintaining compassion and ethical judgment.
• Can educate patients and family members about care steps or post-discharge instructions when appropriate.

You’ll support ambulance restocking, minor vehicle checks, and route planning when GPS coverage is unreliable. You’ll work long shifts, often with little downtime, and learn how to maintain readiness, teamwork, and composure throughout.
