Description:

We’re looking for a Barista Trainee who’s curious about the craft of coffee and wants to be part of a thoughtful, people-centered café. You’ll help open early — preparing the machines, aligning cups, and making sure everything is stocked and spotless before the morning rush begins. You’ll assist with prepping ingredients like syrups, milk, and toppings, keeping everything fresh, stocked, and organized. You’ll be trained in milk steaming technique, practicing texture and temperature until you’re confident with every cup. You’ll learn how to steam milk, pull shots, and begin to craft basic espresso-based drinks to standard. You’ll support snack and pastry service — warming items, restocking displays, and handling food with hygiene and care. You’ll be taught the basics of extraction, mouthfeel, and how water temperature affects flavor. You’ll get familiar with how to pace yourself during busy hours and stay efficient without sacrificing quality or care. You’ll help support daily rituals like cuppings, team calibration, and opening the café with intention and flow.

Basic Qualifications:

• Operate coffee equipment like grinders, espresso machines, and milk steamers safely and efficiently.
• Take pride in every cup—because for someone, it’s the best part of their day.
• Support opening or closing tasks like setting up the bar or counting the till.
• Upsell pastries, snacks, or merchandise when appropriate without being pushy.
• Handle payments quickly and accurately through POS systems—cash, card, or mobile.

Preferred:

• Pays attention to drink presentation, foam texture, and latte art for a polished customer experience.
• Values friendliness, precision, and teamwork in a service-driven environment.
• Able to stay upbeat and courteous even during high-pressure or repetitive tasks.
• Friendly and engaging with customers, capable of taking orders clearly and offering product recommendations.
• Able to handle payments, operate POS systems, and manage tips or loyalty programs.
