Description:
We’re looking for a Cook who can handle the heat — someone who moves fast, stays sharp, and turns ingredients into comfort, flavor, and consistency every shift. You’ll prep, cook, and plate breakfast, lunch, or brunch items depending on the shift, always keeping quality and consistency in mind. You’ll work closely with your kitchen team to ensure timing, flavor, and consistency are always in sync. You’ll shadow experienced cooks, ask questions, and slowly start taking on more tasks as your confidence grows. You’ll rotate stock, label ingredients, and track freshness to keep the kitchen running safely and efficiently. You’ll rotate ingredients, manage inventory basics, and restock fridges or dry storage without needing reminders. You’ll be expected to stay cool under pressure, adapt to unexpected changes, and recover fast when mistakes happen. You’ll help with prep lists, write labels, and be ready to suggest ideas when the menu changes or specials pop up. You’ll follow kitchen systems while also bringing initiative — refilling, cleaning, and jumping in wherever needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Train junior kitchen staff or dishwashers in prep, cleaning, or basic cooking tasks.
- Keep your workstation clean throughout service and deep-clean at the end of each shift.
- Prepare meals according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment before each shift.
- Accept feedback from head chefs or supervisors and apply it constructively.
Preferred:
- Can assist with batch cooking, sauces, marinades, and dressings for daily service needs.
- Understands kitchen flow and prioritizes tasks to maintain steady service without delays.
- Able to follow instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager and contribute to team efficiency.
- Capable of handling knives and kitchen tools safely and skillfully.
- Experience preparing meals in a restaurant, café, catering, or institutional kitchen setting.
Benefits:
- Mental health support — no toxic “tough it out” culture.
- Opportunities to learn new cuisines, plating techniques, and kitchen tools.
- If you’ve got a signature dish, we want to taste it.
- We recognize hustle — shoutouts, bonuses, and surprise treats for top effort.
- Clear communication — from orders to scheduling, we keep it simple.
Mistakes will happen, and that’s okay — what matters is you learn from them and keep improving. You’ll develop a feel for flavors, textures, and cooking temperatures with guidance from our head cook. You’ll be the kind of teammate who jumps in without being asked, because that’s just how good kitchens work. You’ll work closely with the kitchen lead or head chef and be open to feedback, improvement, and new techniques. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on repetition, teamwork, and the quiet satisfaction of a job done right. We believe cooking is a skill anyone can learn with patience, support, and repetition. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills in a high-volume kitchen, we’re here to help you grow. Come join us, start with the basics, and take your first step into the world of cooking — we’ve got your back.
