Description:

We’re looking for an Illustrator Trainee who’s excited to bring characters, moods, and stories to life through thoughtful, expressive visuals — no professional experience required, just heart, dedication, and a pencil or stylus you love to use. You’ll work on real illustration tasks for marketing, education, branding, and digital media alongside senior creatives. We’ll teach you how to follow style guides, work within design systems, and ensure your illustrations serve both function and story. You’ll help create icons, spot illustrations, character art, and decorative visuals for web, print, or motion. Expect to learn how to simplify complex ideas visually while keeping your work lively, relatable, and well-balanced. You’ll gain experience working with tools like Illustrator, Photoshop, Fresco, or traditional sketching — whatever your style is, we’ll help refine it. You’ll assist in creating thumbnails, sketches, and polished pieces while practicing clean file structure and layer organization. We’ll guide you in understanding how illustration supports brand identity, storytelling, and emotional tone. You’ll also assist in preparing artwork for handoff — including file naming, sizing, and layer organization.

Basic Qualifications:

• Participate in creative reviews, brainstorms, and storyboarding when illustrations are part of a larger campaign.
• Document your process for portfolios, presentations, or team knowledge sharing.
• Refine rough concepts into polished, detailed compositions that serve a clear purpose.
• Collaborate with animators or developers when illustrations need to move or be interactive.
• Revise sketches and final artwork based on feedback, while maintaining creative integrity.

Preferred:

• Experience illustrating within design systems or maintaining cohesive styles across a series.
• Background or passion in illustration, visual arts, graphic design, or animation.
• Able to follow a brief and adapt illustration style to suit different audiences and brand voices.
• Open to revisions and client feedback while maintaining artistic integrity.
• Capable of illustrating characters, environments, icons, or conceptual scenes from scratch.
