Description:

We’re hiring a creative and skilled Podcast Editor to join our team and help deliver engaging and polished audio content. You’ll be responsible for editing podcast episodes, ensuring clarity, balance, and overall high production standards. You’ll work closely with hosts and producers to refine the audio, enhance storytelling, and maintain a cohesive tone throughout the episodes. You’ll add music, sound effects, and transitions to enhance the listener’s experience, ensuring the content is both engaging and professional. You’ll work with audio editing tools to improve pacing, remove filler words, and adjust volume levels for clarity and consistency. You’ll ensure that all podcast episodes are well-paced, removing filler words and unnecessary segments to keep the content flowing. You’ll work within tight deadlines, managing multiple episodes at once and ensuring timely delivery of each episode. You’ll assist in the creation of promotional audio clips and highlights to promote podcast episodes across various platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

• Edit for story and pacing—not just sound—cutting tangents, awkward pauses, or redundant segments without losing the natural flow.
• Help standardize the podcast’s sound—keeping tone, volume, and pacing consistent across episodes and seasons.
• Handle last-minute edits or emergencies professionally—podcasting is fast-paced, and agility matters.
• Respect NDAs and privacy when working with unreleased or sensitive content.
• Collaborate asynchronously with remote teams, using tools like Google Drive, Trello, Notion, or Slack to track progress and notes.

Preferred:

• Open to batch editing multiple episodes ahead of publishing schedule.
• Values clarity, warmth, and emotional impact in audio experiences.
• Capable of handling fast turnarounds when needed without sacrificing quality.
• Familiar with audio enhancements such as compression, EQ, and normalization.
• Knows how to keep a consistent sound across episodes, seasons, and voice styles.
