Description:
We’re welcoming aspiring musicians and composers to join us as trainees and learn how to turn raw musical ideas into polished productions. You’ll help brainstorm and build original tracks for podcasts, indie games, video content, and more. We’ll teach you how to structure your compositions for mood, pacing, and storytelling impact. We’ll show you how to break down a creative brief, find the right tempo, and match music to emotion and pacing. Expect to work with both real and virtual instruments — whichever tools bring your sound to life. We’ll teach you how to use silence, texture, rhythm, and repetition as storytelling tools. You’ll be surrounded by other creatives — editors, illustrators, writers — and your sound will complete their visions. You’ll learn to build audio libraries, manage stems, and deliver clean, production-ready tracks. You’ll learn how to organize stems, version files properly, and deliver tracks that are easy to work with downstream.
Basic Qualifications:
- Maintain an organized library of samples, drafts, and project files for future use.
- Keep refining your craft—great musicians never stop learning or listening.
- Translate abstract direction (“make it feel nostalgic but hopeful”) into musical ideas.
- Play instruments or conduct live sessions to bring your compositions to life.
- Edit, mix, and master tracks so they’re production-ready and polished.
Preferred:
- Willing to maintain a catalog of royalty-free or client-owned work for reuse and pitching.
- Able to layer sounds, design textures, or experiment with unconventional instruments or samples.
- Experience composing original pieces for film, games, advertising, or live performance.
- Organized with project files, track stems, and version control during the composition process.
- Enjoys experimenting with harmony, melody, and rhythm to shape unique musical identities.
Benefits:
- Royalties, buyouts, or hybrid contracts — we’re transparent and fair from day one.
- Your compositions won’t be buried — they’ll be heard, seen, and credited.
- Remote-friendly workflow — compose from your studio, kitchen, or cabin in the woods.
- Feedback from pros, not “can it be more epic?” — we speak your language.
- Paid time for composing, revising, and mixing — your process is respected.
You’ll explore styles like ambient, electronic, cinematic, acoustic, and more to widen your range. We’ll teach you how to accept feedback, rework pieces quickly, and stay open to creative revision. You’ll learn the basics of mixing levels, EQing your tracks, and preparing music for voiceovers or dialogue layers. This is a great opportunity for self-taught musicians or hobbyists looking to go pro in a supportive setting. You’ll gradually develop a signature style while building technical skills you can apply across many industries. You’ll learn how music is licensed, tracked, and prepared for platforms like YouTube, Spotify, or games. You’ll walk away with experience, skills, and a track record of published or internally used work. If your dream is to create sound that moves people — this is the start of your journey.
