Description:
We’re on the hunt for a Newsletter Copywriter who doesn’t just write emails — you craft experiences that start in the inbox and stick in the reader’s mind. You’ll be responsible for crafting engaging, brand-aligned newsletters that not only get opened but actually get read. Whether it’s a product update, weekly digest, campaign launch, or just a casual check-in, you know how to strike the right tone and guide the reader from line one to CTA. You’ll work closely with marketing and design teams to brainstorm angles, match messaging to campaigns, and make sure every newsletter feels like a personal note — not just another sales blast. You’ll work closely with marketing, content, and design to make sure every send supports larger campaign goals while delivering value in its own right. You’re not just a good writer, you’re a strategic communicator who understands audience segments, open rate psychology, and the subtle art of a great CTA.
Basic Qualifications:
- Stay up-to-date with email marketing best practices, spam compliance, and formatting standards.
- Edit and proofread every word carefully—spelling, grammar, clarity, and brand tone all matter.
- Build content calendars in advance and ensure newsletters go out on time—even when things get busy.
- Continuously look for new angles, stories, or formats to keep content fresh and prevent "newsletter fatigue".
- Balance value and promotion—give readers something useful while still nudging them toward action.
Preferred:
- Comfortable working with marketing teams, designers, and analytics specialists.
- Familiar with tools like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, ConvertKit, or similar email platforms.
- Enjoys brainstorming hooks, angles, and content ideas based on audience behavior.
- Has experience writing for different types of newsletters — editorial, promotional, or digest.
- Keeps up with newsletter trends, formats, and strategies used by successful brands.
Benefits:
- You’ll collaborate with design and marketing — but your copy leads the way.
- Access to analytics so you can see what’s working (and brag about it).
- Learn what drives clicks, scrolls, and replies — the fun side of metrics.
- Try bold formats — interviews, GIFs, spicy CTAs — we love a good experiment.
- You’ll help shape the voice of the brand, not just echo it.
You’ll help brainstorm new email formats, refine automated sequences, and bring consistency to our overall email voice. Experience with tools like ConvertKit, Klaviyo, or Mailchimp is great, but what really matters is your ability to write copy that resonates and gets results. Bonus points if you’ve worked in ecommerce, SaaS, or editorial newsletters, but if you can write clean, clever, scroll-stopping copy, we’re listening. Tools like Mailchimp, Substack, or Klaviyo are familiar territory, but what sets you apart is your ability to write something that people don’t just read — they *feel*. Let’s create messages that don’t just land in inboxes — they land with impact. Let’s make email exciting again.
