Description:
We’re looking for a sharp and level-headed Online Chat Moderator to help us maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere across our digital platforms. You’ll be responsible for monitoring real-time chats, identifying violations, and stepping in when things go off track — all while making sure users feel welcome and respected. From moderating live chats and forums to handling user reports and applying community guidelines, you’ll be the one helping to ensure things don’t just run — they run smoothly. You’ll act as the eyes and ears of our community, catching inappropriate content, flagging recurring issues, and ensuring our guidelines are consistently followed. Your day might involve answering repetitive questions, muting disruptive users, or quietly stepping in to stop a flame war before it starts. You’ll work closely with the content and support teams to escalate issues, track recurring problems, and suggest improvements to our moderation systems.
Basic Qualifications:
- Support events, live streams, or launches by keeping chat clean, hyped, and on-brand.
- Flag and report technical issues, bugs, or suspicious behavior to the appropriate internal teams.
- Balance moderation with genuine interaction—people should feel heard, not policed.
- Be a calm, neutral presence in heated moments, de-escalating tension before it spreads.
- Collaborate with other moderators to provide around-the-clock coverage in different time zones.
Preferred:
- Eager to build experience in a digital support or moderation role.
- Can manage time and multitask between reviewing messages and writing responses.
- Enjoys helping others, resolving misunderstandings, and promoting positive interaction.
- Interest in keeping online spaces safe, inclusive, and engaging for users.
- Curious about how digital communities grow and how to protect them.
Benefits:
- Be the silent hero behind smooth chats and engaged communities.
- Get trained on how to de-escalate like a pro — useful both online and IRL.
- Trolls get banned, but moderators get bonuses — that’s how we roll.
- Access to moderator-only groups where memes and rants are welcome.
- Moderation is usually invisible — but here, your work gets seen and valued.
You’ll also be responsible for documenting incidents, escalating serious issues to senior staff, and keeping an eye out for patterns that could signal a bigger problem. If you’re someone who cares about online communities and knows how to set a tone of respect and inclusion, we want you. Ideal candidates are empathetic, tech-savvy, and excellent communicators who can think fast under pressure. Whether you’re deleting spam, guiding new members, or stepping in when things get tense, you’re there to protect the vibe and keep the space welcoming. If you're someone who thrives on structure, fairness, and helping people feel heard, we’d love to have you on the team.
