Description:
We’re hiring a Public Transport Inspector to oversee operations within the metro system — ideal for someone who’s attentive, safety-conscious, and comfortable working underground in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be responsible for monitoring transit vehicles and routes to confirm adherence to schedules, cleanliness standards, and safety regulations. You’ll patrol stations, terminals, and high-traffic routes, keeping watch for disorderly behavior, vandalism, or unauthorized access. You’ll interact with a wide range of riders, explaining fare policies calmly and professionally — even in tense situations. You’ll document observations in digital or paper forms, reporting violations, equipment failures, or service disruptions to dispatch or supervisors. You’ll observe passenger behavior during peak hours and report unsafe activity, suspicious items, or escalator hazards promptly. You’ll assist with verifying proper signage, accessibility routes, and digital information displays for accuracy and functionality. You’ll help check maintenance readiness — lights, signage, cleanliness, accessibility features — and log any deficiencies. You’ll patrol transfer points, stations, and popular stops during peak hours to ensure consistent presence and support.
Basic Qualifications:
- Help monitor cleanliness, accessibility, and functionality of public transport vehicles and facilities.
- Monitor stops and terminals for loitering, unauthorized vendors, or potential disruptions.
- Perform uniform and behavior checks for on-duty transit personnel if required.
- Document all actions taken during shifts for review, auditing, or enforcement follow-up.
- Maintain a strong understanding of public transport networks, zones, and fare systems.
Preferred:
- Able to document violations, prepare incident reports, and cooperate with law enforcement or supervisors when needed.
- Enjoys being active, interacting with people, and ensuring a high standard of service for the community.
- Willing to support driver safety, customer assistance, and crowd control during peak hours or events.
- Physically fit and able to stand, walk, or travel frequently between transport vehicles and terminals.
- Wants to grow into roles like Senior Inspector, Operations Coordinator, or Compliance Officer.
Benefits:
- You’ll work in a structured, fair environment where you’re valued as a vital part of the team.
- Team-oriented work culture — you’ll be part of a team that values cooperation and mutual respect.
- Room to learn — you'll gain valuable experience in transportation safety and law enforcement.
- Work in different environments — you’ll get to work on buses, trains, stations, and more.
- Clear performance feedback — we support your success with regular check-ins and growth opportunities.
You’ll wear a uniform, carry ID, and represent the authority of the transit agency while remaining approachable and respectful. You’ll be responsible for submitting daily reports on citations issued, incidents handled, and unusual rider behavior. You’ll work in pairs or small teams to ensure safety and coverage across different routes or areas. You’ll rotate shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, depending on traffic and inspection targets. You’ll be mentored by senior inspectors who will show you how to balance authority with respect and efficiency with fairness. You’ll be mentored by senior inspectors experienced in night operations and rapid response situations. No experience is required — just confidence, honesty, and the ability to stand for long periods and stay calm under pressure. No prior technical experience is required — just a strong eye for detail, willingness to learn, and comfort around machinery. If you're ready to help keep public vehicles reliable, safe, and road-ready, we’re ready to train you as a transport inspector.
