Description:

We’re hiring a Locksmith to specialize in upgrading traditional locks to smart systems — perfect for someone who’s tech-friendly, customer-focused, and excited about modern security solutions. You’ll respond to car lockouts, lost key scenarios, broken ignitions, and remote reprogramming requests across a variety of vehicle makes and models. You’ll remove old hardware, prepare doors and frames, and ensure seamless installation of new digital access products. You’ll verify ownership or occupancy in emergency situations and maintain proper documentation for legal compliance. You’ll troubleshoot connection issues, app pairing problems, and battery-related concerns both during and after installation. You’ll install and program digital locks, keypad systems, or smart locks depending on client needs and access type. You’ll work with brands like August, Schlage, Yale, and commercial access control platforms depending on the job. You’ll rotate between scheduled maintenance, installation projects, and urgent security calls based on your weekly route. You’ll maintain documentation for each site, including key logs, work orders, and digital access history when applicable.

Basic Qualifications:

• Take pride in securing spaces and giving people peace of mind, one lock at a time.
• Respect client confidentiality and maintain a high level of trust when handling sensitive access points.
• Offer advice on lock brands, security upgrades, or burglary prevention techniques.
• Coordinate with property managers, police, or building contractors on complex lock systems.
• Cut new keys, rekey existing locks, and program electronic or smart locking systems.

Preferred:

• Background or strong interest in mechanical systems, security hardware, or precision craftsmanship.
• Willing to respond to emergency calls, including lockouts, lost keys, or broken locks, often after hours or on weekends.
• Able to install or service door closers, panic bars, master key systems, and high-security lock systems.
• Pays strong attention to detail when working with small mechanisms, security pins, and precision tools.
• Familiar with basic electronics, wiring, or battery replacement for digital lock systems.

You’ll be expected to communicate clearly, build trust, and maintain professionalism with customers during stressful situations. You’ll document installations, collect signatures, and track warranty information through a mobile field app. You’ll assist in commercial rekeying projects, secure file cabinet systems, or panic bar installations as needed. You’ll receive mentoring from senior locksmiths and grow your skills across residential, automotive, and access control specialties. You’ll assist in system resets, code recoveries, and lockouts caused by user error or app malfunctions. You’ll receive support and mentoring from senior techs who know the ins and outs of nearly every vehicle system. Previous locksmith or hardware experience is a plus — but we’re also ready to train quick learners with strong mechanical aptitude.
