Description:

We’re looking for a Barista Trainee who’s eager to learn the art and rhythm of coffee-making while delivering a warm, welcoming experience to every guest. You’ll begin by learning how to set up the café each morning — prepping stations, stocking milk, and dialing in the espresso machine. You’ll assist with prepping ingredients like syrups, milk, and toppings, keeping everything fresh, stocked, and organized. You’ll assist with brewing methods like V60, Chemex, AeroPress, and learn what makes each cup unique. You’ll help set up tasting flights, refill slow bar stations, and maintain clean lines behind the counter. You’ll support snack and pastry service — warming items, restocking displays, and handling food with hygiene and care. You’ll work with other departments — sometimes greeting HR visitors, handling meeting coffee trays, or prepping drinks for executives on the go. You’ll learn how to build a drinks menu that respects the season, highlights origin beans, and pairs well with our pastries. You’ll help support daily rituals like cuppings, team calibration, and opening the café with intention and flow.

Basic Qualifications:

• Clean equipment regularly and report any technical issues to management.
• Adapt quickly when orders are changed, mistakes happen, or supplies run low.
• Respond to customer feedback—positive or negative—with professionalism and care.
• Assist in training new hires by modeling good habits and sharing tips.
• Contribute ideas for improving service, efficiency, or customer experience.

Preferred:

• Wants to grow into roles like Shift Lead, Head Barista, or Café Manager.
• Understands how to manage customer queues, prepare orders efficiently, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
• Comfortable preparing dairy and non-dairy alternatives, syrups, and custom orders based on customer preferences.
• Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and flexible shifts as needed by the café schedule.
• Pays attention to allergen safety, cross-contamination, and customer dietary preferences.
