Description:

We’re hiring a skilled Podcast Editor to join our team and ensure our podcast episodes are polished and ready for release. You’ll be responsible for editing raw podcast recordings, ensuring they are clear, polished, and engaging for our audience. You’ll collaborate with podcast hosts and producers to ensure the final product meets the vision and tone of each episode. You’ll clean up audio files, remove background noise, and adjust levels to ensure the best possible sound quality for each episode. You’ll ensure each episode is engaging and polished, adding music, sound effects, and transitions to improve the listening experience. You’ll manage the post-production process, including syncing audio, enhancing sound quality, and optimizing for various platforms. You’ll work with the production team to incorporate feedback and ensure final edits meet the desired vision for the episode. You’ll ensure that each podcast episode aligns with the brand’s voice and messaging while maintaining high audio standards.

Basic Qualifications:

• Edit raw podcast recordings into polished, professional episodes—removing filler words, pauses, background noise, and technical glitches.
• Keep up with trends in podcast production, editing software, audio storytelling, and monetization strategies.
• Maintain an archive of raw and edited files, keeping backups organized for future edits, remasters, or republishing needs.
• Support upload and publishing workflows—uploading to platforms like Libsyn, Anchor, Buzzsprout, or a custom CMS.
• Handle last-minute edits or emergencies professionally—podcasting is fast-paced, and agility matters.

Preferred:

• Can export episodes in proper formats and optimize for platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube.
• Wants to grow into roles like Senior Audio Editor, Podcast Producer, or Creative Director.
• Enjoys shaping raw conversations into polished, engaging stories.
• Understands the importance of brand tone, pacing, and audience expectations for each podcast.
• Able to write short show notes, timecodes, or summaries if requested.
