Description:

We’re looking for a Freelance Resume Writer who knows how to turn someone’s career story into a document that opens doors. You understand that a great resume isn’t just a list of jobs — it’s a marketing tool tailored to each opportunity. You’ll work with clients one-on-one to uncover their accomplishments and frame them in the strongest light. Your writing will strike the perfect balance between professionalism and authenticity. You know how to write for both humans and algorithms, balancing clarity with ATS-optimized formatting. You’ll receive briefs or raw materials and turn them into professional, polished resumes ready for today’s job market. You’ll help clients overcome self-doubt and learn how to see their own experience as valuable. You know when to be concise, when to elaborate, and how to position gaps or transitions honestly but positively. You’re comfortable rewriting vague or generic phrases into impactful, results-based language.

Basic Qualifications:

• Optimize resumes for applicant tracking systems (ATS) by using relevant keywords, formatting, and structure best practices.
• Manage your own project timelines, client communication, and file delivery like a pro—reliable, respectful, and efficient.
• Translate technical or complex experience into plain, compelling language that resonates with recruiters and hiring managers.
• Stay updated on hiring trends, resume standards, and industry-specific expectations across sectors (tech, healthcare, finance, etc.).
• Offer packages or upsells (e.g., resume + LinkedIn bundle) to support clients beyond just one document.

Preferred:

• Comfortable writing LinkedIn summaries or cover letters as part of the service.
• Can handle multiple projects and revisions while meeting deadlines.
• Values confidentiality, accuracy, and empathy in working with job seekers.
• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to clarity, grammar, and tone.
• Understands the differences between chronological, functional, and hybrid resume formats.
