Description:

We’re looking for a diligent and resourceful Online Research Assistant to help gather, analyze, and summarize data for various projects. You’ll conduct research across a variety of platforms, from academic databases to news sites, to gather relevant and trustworthy information. Your role will involve reviewing articles, reports, databases, and other digital content to extract valuable data and insights. You’ll assist in analyzing competitors, tracking market trends, and identifying opportunities for business growth. You’ll organize research findings into reports, presentations, and summaries that are clear, concise, and easy for the team to digest. You’ll stay on top of industry trends and news, ensuring the team is aware of the latest developments in relevant fields. You’ll help with competitor analysis, market research, and gathering data for product development or marketing purposes. You’ll work across a variety of industries and topics, developing expertise in each area to support our diverse needs. You’ll use your analytical skills to identify patterns and trends that can influence strategy and business planning.

Basic Qualifications:

• Manage multiple research tasks at once, prioritizing deadlines and keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
• Support a variety of teams—marketing, product, content, or operations—by delivering research tailored to their needs.
• Update existing research reports or databases with fresh info as it becomes available.
• Use advanced search techniques, filters, and databases (Google Scholar, LinkedIn, government sites, etc.) to get better results faster.
• Be flexible with task formats—some days it’s heavy reading, other days it’s quick validation or fact-checking.

Preferred:

• Experience conducting research for academic, marketing, business, or content projects.
• Understands how to tailor research to client needs, including tone, depth, and relevance.
• Familiar with tools like Google Docs, Notion, Airtable, or Excel for tracking data.
• Enjoys digging deep into unfamiliar topics and learning along the way.
• Pays attention to detail and avoids plagiarism by properly paraphrasing or citing sources.
