Description:

We’re looking for a motivated Junior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team and help create high-performance backend systems. You’ll work closely with senior developers to design, implement, and maintain the server-side logic and databases for web applications. You’ll assist with building RESTful APIs, managing data flow, and integrating backend services with frontend applications. js, Python, or Ruby on Rails. You’ll assist with database management, ensuring data integrity, and supporting efficient data retrieval for various services. You’ll help integrate frontend and backend components, ensuring seamless communication between the server and the client-side. You’ll collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with backend services. You’ll learn best practices for writing secure, maintainable, and testable backend code. You’ll participate in code reviews, ensuring that best practices and clean coding standards are followed throughout the development process.

Basic Qualifications:

• Assist with setting up and maintaining dev environments, local servers, and containerized systems like Docker.
• Support the development and maintenance of backend services, APIs, and database logic using Node.js, Python, Java, or other backend languages.
• Be a team player, stay curious, and contribute consistently—you’re here to learn, improve, and build real things that work.
• Be open to learning about CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Heroku, etc.).
• Stay up to date with new backend tools, frameworks, and best practices to sharpen your skills over time.

Preferred:

• Familiar with environment variables, .env files, and basic security best practices.
• Understands how to build and consume RESTful APIs and basic CRUD operations.
• Has a GitHub profile with projects showing API, server, or database work.
• Knows how to structure small backend projects using MVC or modular design patterns.
• Able to follow Jira boards, Trello, or other project management tools in remote teams.
