Description:

We’re looking for a dedicated and accurate Transcriptionist to join our remote team and provide high-quality transcription services. You’ll be responsible for transcribing recordings, ensuring all dialogue, speaker labels, and background noises are accurately noted. You’ll ensure the transcription process is precise, capturing every detail, including speaker names, timestamps, and non-verbal cues. You’ll work with various formats, including audio, video, and even live transcriptions, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work. You’ll handle confidential and sensitive information, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion at all times. You’ll proofread and edit your work to ensure the final transcript is clear, concise, and free from mistakes. You’ll be working with diverse content, including legal, medical, and technical audio, requiring specialized knowledge for accuracy. You’ll be adept at transcribing both clean audio and challenging audio, including varied accents and technical jargon.

Basic Qualifications:

• Deliver polished, final transcripts that are easy to read, navigate, and repurpose for clients.
• Support accessibility efforts by transcribing content for deaf or hard-of-hearing audiences.
• Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting according to client or style guide requirements.
• Transcribe a variety of materials including interviews, podcasts, meetings, lectures, webinars, and legal or medical recordings.
• Communicate professionally with clients to confirm instructions, request extensions, or clarify unclear parts of recordings.

Preferred:

• Understands how to properly format transcripts for readability and consistency.
• Experience using timestamps, speaker tags, and formatting tools efficiently.
• Familiar with audio file formats (MP3, WAV, M4A) and basic troubleshooting.
• Background or interest in writing, linguistics, journalism, or data entry.
• Excellent listening skills and attention to detail when transcribing audio or video files.
