Description:

We’re looking for an efficient and accurate Transcriptionist to join our team and convert audio and video content into text. You’ll be responsible for transcribing audio and video recordings, including interviews, focus groups, podcasts, and webinars. You’ll work with a variety of file formats, using transcription software to enhance your workflow while ensuring high-quality output. You’ll work with various formats, including audio, video, and even live transcriptions, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work. You’ll use transcription software and tools to ensure efficiency, but also maintain a high level of precision. You’ll handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and adhere to confidentiality agreements. You’ll be expected to work independently and handle confidential information with care, adhering to confidentiality guidelines. You’ll be using transcription software to increase productivity while ensuring your output meets the highest quality standards.

Basic Qualifications:

• Follow legal or medical terminology guidelines (if specialized) and verify technical terms through research when necessary.
• Listen to audio or video recordings and accurately convert spoken content into written text, maintaining clarity and context.
• Work independently in a remote setting—balancing focus, typing speed, and attention to detail under minimal supervision.
• Meet deadlines reliably, managing multiple transcription projects without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
• Support accessibility efforts by transcribing content for deaf or hard-of-hearing audiences.

Preferred:

• Able to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
• Fast and accurate typing skills, ideally 60+ words per minute.
• Excellent listening skills and attention to detail when transcribing audio or video files.
• Familiar with transcription tools like Otter.ai, Express Scribe, Descript, or manual text editors.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, deadline-driven environment.

You’ll follow client-specific guidelines closely, ensuring that all requirements and preferences are fully met for each transcription project.
