Description:

We’re hiring a Game Writer who can craft characters players will love, hate, and never forget — someone who understands that great storytelling in games is about choice, emotion, and consequence. You’ll craft storylines, quests, and characters that entertain, surprise, and invite emotional investment without ever slowing the game down. You’ll collaborate with designers, artists, and developers to align story beats with mechanics, pacing, and level structure. You’ll build branching scenes where every choice feels like it matters — because it *does*. You’ll help shape the game’s lore, faction histories, and moral dilemmas that define the player’s journey. You’ll design factions, belief systems, and regional identities that shape both the world and its characters. You’ll contribute to character creation by defining motivations, flaws, and relationships that evolve over time. We’ll rely on you to punch up boring lines, remove the fluff, and make everything feel alive, reactive, and intentional. You’ll review gameplay and provide story-driven context to make every mechanic feel like part of a larger world.

Basic Qualifications:

• Work with localization teams to make sure story and jokes translate across cultures.
• Stay current on storytelling trends in games, film, and interactive media.
• Adjust writing to fit visual storytelling—sometimes showing is better than telling.
• Develop branching narratives, quests, and outcomes that react to player choices.
• Help shape emotional player experiences through dialogue pacing, choice consequences, and environmental storytelling.

Preferred:

• Pays attention to narrative consistency, lore logic, and emotional tone across the entire player journey.
• Can contribute to main storylines, side quests, character banter, or interactive tutorials.
• Experience writing dialogue, character arcs, and storylines for games, interactive fiction, or narrative-driven experiences.
• Able to collaborate with game designers, narrative leads, and developers to ensure story integrates smoothly with gameplay.
• Enjoys crafting meaningful player choices, compelling characters, and rich fictional worlds.
