Description:

We’re offering an Actuary Trainee position for someone who loves working with numbers, patterns, and predictions — no experience needed, just a sharp mind and curiosity about risk management. You’ll support senior actuaries in analyzing trends, building financial models, and exploring patterns in risk-related data. We’ll teach you how to build models that simulate future events like claims, investment returns, or demographic shifts. You’ll help evaluate life expectancy, claim frequency, and potential financial outcomes based on real-world data. Expect to work on both short-term projects like pricing support and long-term forecasting across multiple sectors. You’ll use tools like Excel, R, or Python — and we’ll help you ramp up if you’re new to any of them. We’ll guide you through the principles of time value of money, discounting, and present value calculations. You’ll contribute to the creation of reports, visual dashboards, and internal presentations used to guide key decisions. We’ll show you how to document your work clearly, explain assumptions, and spot inconsistencies in data inputs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Be the person who makes sense of uncertainty and helps others plan for it.
• Review reinsurance arrangements and evaluate how they affect risk exposure and capital needs.
• Break down large problems into smaller pieces, testing assumptions and dependencies carefully.
• Build and maintain actuarial models that predict outcomes for insurance, finance, or pension products.
• Support financial reporting, reserve calculations, and solvency assessments for compliance and audits.

Preferred:

• Comfortable handling uncertainty, identifying risk drivers, and designing mitigation strategies.
• Familiar with building models to assess risk, calculate premiums, and forecast future liabilities.
• Experience with audit support or regulatory submissions is a plus.
• Thrives in analytical, detail-focused environments where models drive business strategy.
• Can communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including management and clients.
