Description:

We’re looking for an efficient and accurate Transcriptionist to join our team and convert audio and video content into text. You’ll be responsible for transcribing various types of audio and video files, including interviews, webinars, podcasts, and meetings. You’ll ensure the transcription process is precise, capturing every detail, including speaker names, timestamps, and non-verbal cues. You’ll edit and proofread your transcriptions, ensuring they are clear, concise, and free from grammatical errors. You’ll proofread your work to guarantee it’s free from errors and ensure that transcriptions are polished and easy to read. You’ll manage your time efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality in your work. You’ll assist in the creation of specialized transcriptions for legal, medical, and technical content as required. You’ll be adept at transcribing both clean audio and challenging audio, including varied accents and technical jargon.

Basic Qualifications:

• Flag and report poor audio quality or missing content that may affect the accuracy of the final transcript.
• Stay current with transcription tools, keyboard shortcuts, and productivity techniques to increase output without losing accuracy.
• Continuously improve grammar, formatting, and typing skills to boost speed and polish.
• Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting according to client or style guide requirements.
• Listen to audio or video recordings and accurately convert spoken content into written text, maintaining clarity and context.

Preferred:

• Can follow style guides such as verbatim or clean-read depending on client requirements.
• Familiar with confidentiality standards and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Willing to research unclear terms, names, or references to ensure accurate transcription.
• Values precision, reliability, and consistency in their work.
• Background or interest in writing, linguistics, journalism, or data entry.
