Description:
We’re looking for a Freelance Blog Writer who knows how to tell stories that actually get read — not skimmed, not ignored, not lost in the algorithm. You’re not here to stuff keywords or churn out generic copy — you care about voice, pacing, and making every sentence count. Whether it’s a 2,000-word guide, a thought-provoking opinion piece, or a quick how-to article, your work reads like it was written by someone who actually enjoys writing (because you do). You’ll work closely with our content team or editors (sometimes solo), taking briefs or pitching topics, researching deeply, and turning drafts into polished, publish-ready pieces. You’re comfortable working with content briefs — but also confident enough to pitch your own angles and fresh takes. You’re comfortable juggling multiple assignments and delivering clean drafts on time — no ghosting, no excuses. You’re not afraid to ask questions, push back (politely), or suggest a stronger angle when the brief feels flat.
Basic Qualifications:
- Conduct light interviews or quote credible sources to strengthen the article’s authority.
- Join occasional team calls or async discussions to align with editors, marketers, or SEO leads.
- Track content performance (when available) and use insights to improve future pieces.
- Respect client confidentiality and follow brand guidelines, style guides, and tone requirements.
- Adapt writing tone and style to match different brand voices, from casual and witty to formal and technical.
Preferred:
- Understands how to structure articles with headings, subheadings, and clear flow.
- Understands the difference between informative, persuasive, and storytelling content.
- Interested in content marketing and how blog posts support brand visibility.
- Comfortable using Google Docs or CMS platforms like WordPress or Ghost.
- Understands how headlines, intros, and CTAs affect reader engagement.
Benefits:
- Join a team that respects deadlines and your time off.
- Work with editors who actually give useful feedback, not just “needs work.”
- Want to learn copywriting, UX writing, or newsletters? We’ll support that.
- You'll be part of a community of writers, not a lonely Google Doc island.
- We celebrate great intros, clever transitions, and endings that stick.
You understand that good content isn’t just well-written — it’s purposeful. You’re self-motivated, flexible with feedback, and good at managing your own calendar. If you’re the kind of writer who notices typos in menus, rewrites headlines in your head, and feels weirdly proud when someone says “I really liked your post,” you’ll fit right in. We’re building a stable of freelance writers we trust — and if you’re professional, easy to work with, and deliver consistently great content, we’ll keep coming back. You’re independent, professional, and easy to work with — the kind of writer who makes us say, “Let’s send them more work. If you're passionate about storytelling, good at turning vague prompts into real substance, and always striving to make your next piece better than the last, we’d love to work with you. Let’s create blog content that informs, inspires, and actually gets read.
