Description:

We’re looking for a Junior Backend Developer to help us build reliable, scalable, and efficient server-side solutions. You’ll work closely with senior developers to design, implement, and maintain the server-side logic and databases for web applications. You’ll write clean, reusable code using backend technologies like Node. js, Python, or Java, depending on our stack. You’ll assist with database management, ensuring data integrity, and supporting efficient data retrieval for various services. You’ll be responsible for helping design and implement APIs that allow communication between the backend and frontend systems. You’ll be responsible for building and optimizing RESTful APIs to support new features and services. You’ll work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure to deploy applications and manage server environments. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement backend solutions that align with business goals and user needs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Understand basic DevOps concepts so you can better collaborate on deployments and server-related tasks.
• Test endpoints using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or built-in unit/integration tests to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Contribute to database migrations, schema updates, and data seeding for staging and production environments.
• Stay up to date with new backend tools, frameworks, and best practices to sharpen your skills over time.
• Keep your local environment organized—env files, seed scripts, API docs—all make onboarding easier for others.

Preferred:

• Familiar with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and how to write simple SQL queries.
• Understands how to build and consume RESTful APIs and basic CRUD operations.
• Understands the basics of error handling, logging, and debugging backend services.
• Able to follow Jira boards, Trello, or other project management tools in remote teams.
• Able to connect frontend applications with backend services for full-stack functionality.
