Description:
We’re looking for a Video Editing Intern who lives inside the For You Page, watches YouTube Shorts before bed, and knows how to cut fast and scroll-stopping content. You know when to speed up a shot, when to pause, and when to let silence speak louder than any transition. You’ll add captions that actually keep people watching — synced perfectly, styled cleanly, and never late. You’ll cut, trim, subtitle, reformat, resize, and occasionally breathe life into “meh” footage with sharp timing and music instinct. You’ll help manage video assets across multiple clients — naming files properly, keeping folders clean, and making re-edits painless. You’ll be given raw footage and a creative brief, and we’ll help you translate that into something engaging, clear, and on-brand. You’ll work in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci — and we’ll teach you how to stay organized when timelines get long. You’ll help brainstorm angles, titles, first lines, and swipe-worthy thumbnails that boost engagement. ” You’ll get hands-on with Premiere Pro or Final Cut, and maybe touch After Effects, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve if the project calls for it. You’ll get a crash course in production logic: how to build for reuse, cut down 2 minutes into 15 seconds, and when to *not* add another transition.
Basic Qualifications:
- Keep up with editing trends on social platforms (jump cuts, text overlays, meme timing) to keep content fresh and shareable.
- Collaborate with social media or marketing teams to adapt content for paid ads, email campaigns, or landing pages.
- Edit for emotional impact—making sure pacing, music, and visuals support the intended tone and message.
- Export final videos in various formats, aspect ratios, and resolutions depending on platform requirements (e.g., 16:9, 9:16, 1:1).
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions by suggesting creative ways to present content visually.
Preferred:
- Open to learning new plugins, effects, or editing techniques to stay up to date.
- Background or interest in filmmaking, digital content, post-production, or multimedia design.
- Experience editing short-form and long-form videos for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or corporate presentations.
- Experience adding motion graphics, subtitles, or animated transitions is a plus.
- Can work with b-roll, interview cuts, stock footage, or client-provided assets.
Benefits:
- We recognize the invisible skill behind smooth cuts, audio polish, and subtle timing — and we say thank you.
- You’ll work with real footage, scripts, and creative direction — not just vague briefs.
- Revisions are collaborative, respectful, and focused — no endless “make it pop” notes without direction.
- Work remotely and craft videos that people actually watch — not just scroll past.
- You’ll be part of a team that understands the creative process and respects your deep work time.
You’ll be trained to watch content with a viewer’s eye: when to cut, when to let silence breathe, and how to keep things tight without rushing. You’ll join internal reviews, listen to feedback on other editors’ work, and absorb what makes a cut engaging in the first 3 seconds. You’ll see how podcasts and YouTube channels are built consistently — week after week — and why systems matter as much as creativity. You understand sound — how it sets tone, hides cuts, and drives emotion when the visuals are simple. You’ll grow your technical skills and your storytelling chops — because both matter when turning clips into real content. You’ll walk away with real portfolio pieces, real lessons, and a whole new sense of how much you can do under time constraints. You’ll become fast — not sloppy fast, but deliberate fast, with clean cuts, smart pacing, and no wasted time. You’ll walk away with dozens of published clips and real proof that you can edit for attention, not just aesthetics. If you think in clips, hear beats in your head, and genuinely enjoy finding “the hook” — this internship was made for you.
