Description:

We’re hiring an Animator Trainee who’s passionate about character performance — someone who studies expressions, body language, and timing, and wants to make every movement feel alive. You’ll assist our animation team in creating believable, expressive motion for characters across games, cutscenes, or short films. We’ll teach you the foundations of timing, spacing, and visual rhythm using classic animation principles in a modern workflow. You’ll work with senior animators to clean up keyframes, adjust timing, and ensure motion feels natural and expressive. Expect to use tools like After Effects, Spine, Blender, or Maya — depending on the project and your learning goals. We’ll guide you in understanding staging, silhouette readability, and how to make action readable even at a glance. You’ll participate in team reviews and learn how to give and receive feedback that improves flow and clarity. You’ll participate in reviews where polish, clarity, and timing are tuned to fit moment-to-moment action. You’ll also learn how to animate in constraints, match existing styles, and keep things optimized for performance.

Basic Qualifications:

• Collaborate with designers, storyboard artists, and developers to bring scenes and interactions to life.
• Document workflows and animation libraries for team use and future scalability.
• Have fun animating—when you love the motion, it shows in every frame.
• Prepare clean files with organized layers, rigs, and naming conventions for easy handoff.
• Stay current with animation trends, new techniques, and tools to improve your craft.

Preferred:

• Willing to adapt animation styles from hand-drawn and stylized to realistic and physics-based.
• Strong understanding of timing, spacing, squash and stretch, anticipation, and other animation principles.
• Understands how to optimize animation for mobile, web, or real-time rendering engines.
• Able to balance visual style, performance constraints, and storytelling clarity.
• Open to working on diverse formats like TV shows, mobile apps, marketing ads, or in-game cutscenes.
