Description:

We’re seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Online Research Assistant to support our team with accurate and insightful research. You’ll be responsible for gathering information from credible online sources, ensuring all findings are relevant and up-to-date. You’ll track down relevant, credible information, making sure it’s up-to-date and aligned with the team’s needs. You’ll use search engines, academic journals, databases, and other online resources to find the most relevant information. You’ll assist with market research, competitor analysis, and finding actionable trends that can guide decision-making. You’ll stay on top of industry trends and news, ensuring the team is aware of the latest developments in relevant fields. You’ll assist in gathering competitor intelligence, market trends, and customer insights to inform business strategies. You’ll help organize research findings and present them in easily digestible formats like reports and charts. You’ll work across a variety of topics, from market research to industry analysis, adapting your approach based on the project.

Basic Qualifications:

• Spot patterns and synthesize insights—not just copy-paste links, but connect the dots where possible.
• Track emerging trends, competitor activity, or market developments by setting up alerts, feeds, or scheduled checks.
• Document your sources properly, including date, author, and link, to support transparency and credibility.
• Ask clarifying questions when a research request is vague or overly broad—better to narrow the scope than waste time.
• Manage multiple research tasks at once, prioritizing deadlines and keeping stakeholders informed of progress.

Preferred:

• Familiar with niche databases, LinkedIn search, academic journals, or market data tools.
• Wants to grow into roles like Content Strategist, Research Analyst, or Data Journalist.
• Can adapt research style depending on industry — e.g. tech, health, finance, education.
• Familiar with tools like Google Docs, Notion, Airtable, or Excel for tracking data.
• Values accuracy, curiosity, and ethical information gathering.

You’ll assist in writing research papers or documents, properly citing sources and following the required format.
